We’ve returned from our road trip…

Trinity Days are over and classes have resumed, but the Accidentals had a great weekend. On top of all the great acapella, we ate breakfast at Hamilton College’s diner at two in the morning, sang with a bunch of really cool Millbrook music students, and we even received a personal tour of Millbrook’s Trevor Zoo. On top of it all, everywhere we went we ate like kings! We’d like to thank the Hamiltones of Hamilton College and Lee Cromwell of The Millbrook School for their incredible hospitality, and all of those who came out to hear us sing.

There is plenty more coming though! This Friday at 10 PM, the Accidentals and the Quirks will join forces in the Chapel to put on a wild and crazy acapella spectacular! Who knows – maybe we’ll even sing together… You can find the event on Facebook here. RSVP it up!

And of course, only 15 days until London!

New Guys!

Congratulations to new Accidentals Kyle Beek, George Hairston, and Austin Tewksbury! As always, we had a blast during the Freshman concert and would like to thank everyone who came out to support us, as well as all the brave young men who auditioned. This was the most impressive second semester turnout we’ve ever had, and we can’t thank everyone enough.

In the coming weeks, the Accidentals will be making appearances at The Millbrook School in Millbrook, NY, where we will also be teaching a master class, and at an invitational concert at Hamilton College with The Hamiltones. We’ll also be having a concert on-campus with the Quirks next week! Stay tuned for more information!

Time Flies…

… And as the semester nears it’s end, it seems as if we’re only just beginning…

In the past week alone, the Accidentals have sung at three events here at Trinity. This past Friday, Nov. 13, the Accidentals became the first acapella group to sing at The Mill, Trinity’s arts co-op, where we sang along with the Bowdoin Miscellania. Then, on Saturday Nov. 14, the Accidentals joined the Dischords, the Quirks, and the Trinitones at Trinity’s annual Homecoming Concert. The Accidentals also sang at the Underground Coffeehouse for Acapella-Fest!

But we’re not done yet!

This Friday, Nov. 20, the Accidentals will be joining the Harvard Callbacks and Yale’s Mixed Company for an evening of acapella at Bank Street in Stamford, Conn. hosted by the Trinity Club of Fairfield County (you can find the press release here). Then on Saturday, Nov. 21, the Accidentals will head to New London to sing with The ConnChords of Connecticut College.

Auditions!

On behalf of the Accidentals, welcome (or welcome back) to Trinity!

The 2009-10 academic year will be an epic one for the ‘Dents, as plans for auditions, retreats, and concerts loom overhead. Also in the works for this year are a Spring Break trip to London and the release of our new CD! We are incredibly excited to sing for you in the coming months, and we can only hope that you are equally as excited to listen.

Just as we do every year, we’ll be kicking off the first semester with our bi-annual Freshman Concert, which will take place Saturday, September 12 in Hamlin Hall at 8 pm. This concert will feature all of Trinity’s five acapella groups, including the Dischords, the Pipes, the Quirks, the Trinitones, and, of course, the Accidentals. Following the concert, we will be holding auditions in the Chapel. Please come prepared with a song and a great attitude.

We hope to see all of you on the twelfth!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Along with the Trinity College Dischords, the Accidentals will be performing at Trinity’s 9/11 Memorial Service at 8 pm on the Cave Patio on Thursday September 10. Please join us.

However, with the end of one year arrives the beginning of another, and the Accidentals are proud to announce their leadership for the 2009-2010 academic year!
